I think of myself as an information services worker, freelancer, constant learner, sometimes a permanent employee, sometimes a contract worker—as the workplace now demands. I gained my skills from both work and education, which I have combined over the past fifteen years. I completed my undergraduate degree at Loyola University in Business Operations and Information Systems while working in food and beverage manufacturing, applying to the job the knowledge I acquired in process improvement, project planning and management, budgeting and reporting. My advanced certifications in computer and network security, and public health informatics led to projects in public health, energy and emergency management, and non-profit organizations. My Master degree in Public Health unfortunately coincided with cutbacks in governmental spending, putting my original career objective into a holding pattern. Working with heath information and systems remains a strong interest, but I am open to bringing my diverse skill set to any setting where planning and managing projects and improving processes are needed.
