As a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in Business Administration; I returned to NY and got a job with Best Manufacturing, Inc. Built a $250k territory into $15.5M in annual sales; selling Career Apparel and Institutional Textiles to Hospitals, Hotel chains, Commercial Laundries and Large National Retail chains (1983-2012).I started working at Luther Appliance & Furniture when I was a teenager, going door to door and on job sites to collect payments for my father, Harvey Glickstein, who started the Company in 1967. I purchased the Accounts Receivables of Luther Appliance and Furniture, Inc. from my father in 1992 which totaled $135k. Taking a “custom peddling” business (as it was called back in the day) nationwide, with the development of a full feature catalog and eventually an e-commerce presence; we grew to between $8M - $9M in Sales annually and A/R of over $13M.Today, we are positioned as a highly valued Voluntary Employee Benefit called an Employee Purchasing Program; selling name brand Furniture, Appliances, Electronics and other home merchandise on terms everyone can afford through the convenience of Payroll Deduction (1992 – present).We work closely with Federal and Municipal government agencies, hospitals, hotels and defense contractors; soliciting their employee’s (with their blessing and assistance, of course) to participate/purchase using this unique voluntary employee benefit.
