Black Spring Resources, LLC is a private upstream operating company formed by a team of technical professionals with a history of success in the energy industry. Our goal is to efficiently identify, acquire, and develop high-quality unconventional resources, bringing value forward for our investors, operating partners, and team members.

Led a talented technical team of Geologists, Engineers, Data Scientists, and Technicians in an effort to generate horizontal development prospects, forecast economics, and establish operations in the Midland and Eastern Anadarko Basins.

Remained with the Cordillera Team to help start and run FourPoint as the sole operations-focused Management Team member. Executed a multi-year acquisition strategy to transition the Company from a non-operated partner to operating over 1,200 producing wells and becoming the highest-volume producer in the Western Anadarko Basin. Established and led an efficient, field-oriented Production Team that maximized margins by improving well performance and reducing expenses as needed to respond to market opportunities and challenges. Built and led a Drilling and Completion Team capable of operating up to six rigs while demonstrating continuous time and cost improvement as we led the Basin's adoption of modern D&C practices including multi-well pads, long laterals, and high-density / high-volume completions. Led the operations effort to merge our Western Anadarko assets into Maverick Natural Resources. Served as the VP of Operations in DoublePoint, a JV with Double Eagle that acquired over 400 producing wells and developed over 200 horizontals in the Midland Basin then sold to Pioneer in 2021.

Led the field and office teams to meet or exceed company production and expense objectives in the Western Anadarko Basin of Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle. Established an efficient production review process, generated a wide variety of production improvement projects, and executed recompletions and workovers. Also established an effective expense review process, cut costs across multiple line-items to improve margins, and forecasted LOE for financial models. Worked closely with completion, marketing, and field employees to turn more than 200 new horizontal wells on production. Lead operations contributor to the successful merger with and asset integration into Apache.

Supervised multiple teams accountable for production, completions, recompletions, workovers, and operating expenses in the Legacy Division which included assets in the Greater Green River and Powder River Basins in Wyoming; the Paradox and Sand Wash Basins in Colorado; and the San Juan Basin in New Mexico. Designed the industry's first completions in the Baxter Shale, a Niobrara-aged over-pressured gas reservoir in Southwest Wyoming. Completed and produced Questar's first operated wells in the Williston Basin.

Progressed through the ranks of multiple upstream operations roles including Production Engineer then Field Production Manager over assets in the Eastern Anadarko Basin of Oklahoma; design and execution of platform completions in the Gulf of Mexico; on-site supervision of deep-water drilling operations in the Gulf of Mexico; and design and supervision of platform completions and workovers offshore West Africa.
