Interventional Radiology/ Cath Lab / PICC Line Nurse• Ultrasound guided PICC line insertion using Sherlock 3CG technology by BARD.• Assist radiologist with PICC line insertions while using fluoroscopy. • Administration of conscious sedation drugs during procedures while continually monitoring the patient to ensure safe patient care.• Setting up sterile fields with instruments needed to preform procedures. • Start I.V’s and access Ports for patients within the radiology department.• Administer ordered medications to patients while in Radiology.• Assist the interventional Radiologist during Biopsies, Drainages, Nephrostomy tube insertions and exchanges, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis.• Prepare tissue samples and body fluids to be sent to the lab and pathology for testing.• Monitoring patients post procedure.• Documenting and charging for procedures• Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to schedule and plan ordered procedures• Coordinate with scheduling and ordering doctor’s office to insure there are current Med lists, H&P’s, Labs, Orders properly signed and dated with proper description of ordered procedure• Providing ongoing education to the patient and to the family members. With the goal of alleviating patient anxiety before, during and after the procedure.• Ensuring that the patient and the family members understand the procedure and the plan of care by encouraging them to ask questions before signing the procedural consent.• Providing discharge instructions to patientsCardiovascular Diagnostics• Assess patients and their vitals prior to stress test to insure patient safety.• Interview patients prior to stress testing to ensure accuracy of medication and when last take, past medical history, current NPO status, current health conditions.• Administrations of chemical stress agents such as Lexiscan, and dobutamine as well reversal agents when needed.• Administer Definity and Optison to Echocardiogram patients
