About Scott Hackley

Recently retired researcher for the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center (earlier, Tahoe Research Group). Primary areas of interest included attached algae (periphyton), metaphyton algae, atmospheric nutrient deposition, algal bioassays and stream monitoring. Other major projects have included: impacts of dredging on Lake Tahoe; Lake Tahoe groundwater seepage studies; and impacts of deicing agents on algae and bacteria in Lake Tahoe. Short-term focused studies have included: investigations of Asian clams in Lake Tahoe, storm-water runoff monitoring, aquatic weed bioassays, underwater fish surveys. Work on other aquatic systems has included algal bioassay work on Lake Mead, NV. and dye tracer studies in Santee Lakes, CA wetland.

Also perform stream monitoring in 3 streams (Ward, Blackwood and General Cr.) along the west shore of Lake Tahoe.
