The Global Analytical Sciences department of Air Products and Chemicals was responsible for analytical testing and characterization of all chemicals and materials relevant to the diverse business lines in APCI. As a Section Manager, I was responsible for the Chemical Characterization laboratories within the department. I also had key responsibility to serve the surfactants and epoxy businesses and to liaise with our European colleagues. Key technologies in my section included: mass spectrometry, NMR, LC, GC, surface analysis, titrations, and trace metals methods.In addition to managing half of GAS, I also contributed to Air Products growth with PhD recruiting at Wisconsin and Michigan, running continuous improvement projects, and knowledge management projects (lessons learned and community development).
