Teacher, musician and hard-working, community-driven human.Following my graduation from the University of Birmingham, I spent a year and a half developing my management, sales and customer service skills by undertaking the Graduate Management Trainee scheme with Enterprise Rent-a-car. During my time with Enterprise I was promoted into management positions and gained invaluable experience; particularly in the importance of building positive working relationships with my colleagues and customers. I learned to manage all aspects of running a retail branch; including a fleet of over 100 vehicles and 8 full time employees.Although my experience at Enterprise was hugely rewarding and challenging, car rental was never a passion of mine so I could not resist the opportunity to work at my favourite radio station Kerrang! as a Local Accounts Manager.At Kerrang! my main role involved sourcing new clients and developing advertising and promotional packages which met their needs. I also developed some innovative ideas for bringing new revenue into the station, including a Groupon-style voucher scheme and a Kerrang! branded mobile phone app.I left my position at Kerrang! in August 2012 in order to gain experience working in a school with a view to becoming a qualified teacher in the future. I have now achieved this and absolutely love teaching. I believe in building positive relationships with parents to work together to best support their child's all-round development, both at Primary and Secondary level. I set high expectations of myself and for my pupils in a supportive environment to enable them to achieve excellent outcomes socially, emotionally, and of course academically.Alongside my main job, I also perform regularly as a guitarist and vocalist, and enjoy organising events to connect with my local community, especially involving the beautiful Edgbaston Reservoir.
