Scott Hirano Email and Phone Number
Hello! I’m an Industrial (Systems) Engineering undergraduate at University of Toronto, looking to minor in Artificial Intelligence. I’m an avid problem solver, web developer, AI developer and game developer. At my current internship at Ericsson, I am working in several bleeding-edge research & development projects that involve applying AI/ML (especially Reinforcement Learning algorithms) onto 5G-specific applications, such as to improve user connectivity and service quality.Previously, I have worked at PlayStation as a Software Engineering Intern, where I played both fullstack software developer and product owner. I successfully developed on the MERN stack and used industry-standard software administration tools such as JIRA and Git to hit all key goals in a tight 8-week deadline. At my university, I work as the Vice Chair of our IEEE Student Branch. Our student branch organizes 10+ events (including hackathons, workshops and networking sessions) every year, with the goal of providing students with more opportunities to learn and grow their technical and non-technical skills. One such event is MakeUofT, Canada's largest hardware-focused hackathon, amassing 300+ participants and gaining the recognition of university faculty and industry partners, including Qualcomm and Synopsys.Personally, my biggest hobby is road cycling. I sometimes cycle upwards of 100km a day to see breathtaking scenery across the Toronto and Ottawa regions. If you would like to chat, please feel free to connect!
