Originally from Albuquerque, NM, has worked with youth for over 10 years. Scott’s experience in education began in a music store where he began volunteering his time mentoring students in dance, music and art. After buying a music/art store in 2007 and relocating to Los Angeles, he continued his passion for teaching. The store quickly became a safe zone for at-risk youth looking for an outlet for their expression. Scott then partnered with other organizations such as the Mosaic program through CSUN and held several art shows exhibiting over 100 students’ works from the San Fernando Valley. He has worked with Art Rebel studios that opened other opportunities to reach more students at every Scio-economic levels. Which led to philanthropic work involving organizations like the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Scott has been fortunate enough to developed custom art projects that met state art standards and were used by the a non-profit as their core art curriculum in 14 middle schools throughout Los Angeles.In the 2010/11 school year Scott teamed up with Communities in School organization and City Council District 1 to teach a mural workshop entitled “Let Them Know.” This 12 week mural course was held at Cal Burke High School where students painted individual canvases and a school mural. In the fall of 2010, Scott began teaching visual arts for Alumi Media Group at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy in Downtown Los Angeles and is one of the founders of Creative Youth. For two consecutive summers he taught a Marketing and Design course at Cal Burke High School, where the students earned elective credits and created their own fundraising campaign for their school. While Creative Youth took over the after-school program at CNCA, he became the assistant coordinator. Scott is now runs The Hyste LLC
