As part of the Office of Information Resource Management Year 2000 Project Team: I led the team that created the Access databases to facilitate tracking of completed machines, implementation of upgrades and research on desktop applications. In support of the remediation function, I researched and tested Y2K CMOS upgrades for 11 different Compaq and Gateway hardware platforms, patches and upgrades for the 150+ software applications installed on the DCCA network and installation/testing of all patches and updates. Documentation included sign-offs and/or testing of all reported critical applications, enterprise-wide updates and the creation of a master file of all Y2K Compliance statements. Initial data files exceeded 82,000 pages of entries, which had to be manually parsed. For tracking purposes, I designed a weblinked Access database to provide progress tracking for project staff.

My primary focus on this project was the diagnosis, support and configuration of 1500+ Compaq, Gateway and IBM desktop PC's and 250+ Novell servers in four locations. To facilitate the plan, I diagnosed and documented several program errors and created patches for client-specific applications. Promoted to Assistant Project Lead under Brian Franck with task of coordinating programmers, developers and client to integrate necessary corrections within planned migration to NT environment, I created, configured and installed testable lab models to demonstrate rollout procedure and to "firm up" Ghost image of different user groups.
