Converge, formerly known as the Baptist General Conference, is a 170-year-old Baptist denomination that has congregations in 45 states and the Caribbean, with global workers in 30 countries. The mission of Converge is to help people meet, know and follow Jesus by starting and strengthening churches together worldwide. As the president, I was tasked to empower 10 independent U.S. regions, 1604 autonomous churches and 180 global workers to accomplish the mission together.• Grew Converge movement from 1208 to 1604 congregations• Opened 285 church plants/multi-sites and gained 200+ outside affiliations• Expanded from 131 to 180 global workers and 63 more raising support• Grew the Cornerstone Investment Fund and Converge Retirement Plan to record financial levels, $300 Million and $260 Million, respectively • Developed a unifying vision, mission statement and strategic plan• Grew the ethnic/cultural diversity of churches from 22% to 35%• Expanded the global connection and influence of Converge

Concurrent with leadership of Sun Valley, as generosity director, I was tasked with helping Converge churches become more generous with their time, talent, treasure, touch and thought as a foundation for increased health and expanded impact.• Gathered 100 top leaders at a generosity summit co-hosted by North Point (Andy Stanley) and Generous Giving (Patrick Johnson)• Trained leaders from 500+ churches in generous culture, engaging high-capacity givers and developing capital campaigns

Sun Valley was a church planted in the Baptist General Conference in 1990. I was the first youth pastor of the church and became the lead pastor when the founding pastor left.• Grew average weekend attendance from 375 to 4800+ people• Led transition from rented facilities to 3 permanent campus locations • Expanded from 4 staff to 167 staff• Saw 500+ baptisms each year during last 5 years in the lead pastor role• Increased budget from $320,000 to over $8 million annually• Negotiated merger for second campus and a $250,000 gift for third campus• Planted 28 additional churches in AZ, CA, TX and CO

As the first youth pastor of a church plant in rental facilities, I was tasked with building the ministry to become a leading influence in the East Valley of Phoenix to teens and their families.• Grew from 16 teens and 3 volunteers to 160 teens and 40 volunteers• Developed summer camp experience for 600+ teens from 21 churches• Awarded oversight of children’s ministry and small groups concurrently

As the youth leader in a church revitalization effort, I was tasked with building a new youth ministry in the church.• The church grew from 16 adults to 250 adults over five years• The student ministry grew from 0 to 75 teens and 10 volunteers
