Responsibilities include: • The assistance of five audio suites. • Amending mixes if they are incorrect• Being able to re-deliver final mixes & stems if revised.• Daily start-ups and preparation of Pro Tools 10 to ensure all suites are set and running well each day. • Preparation of OMF,AAF & QuickTime reference files out of Avid media composer and Final Cut Pro. • Ensuring that all operators have my assistants from start to finish of every job.• Keeping the schedule organized throughout the day to make sure we have the required media for each job & everyone involved in the job is updated of any modifications that may happen. • Delivery assistance – laybacks to Digitbeta, HDCAM, HDCAM SR, syncing audio to picture, using WavLab 8 for checking mixes, splits & stems• To ensure all files meet the required specification, for audio making sure the wav files have the correct frames of silents and meet the loudness spec. MCR – UNIT• Striping tapes to ensure we have the stock ready for tape deliveries (Digibeta & HDcam).• Encoding files.• Capturing media off tape• Dubbing from tape to tape• Liaising with editors, clients and Producers.Library Management – UNITI have been put in control to manage the library system virtually and physically, for all media that comes into Unit.This involves logging in new & existing data on our internal database and managing the tangible assets with in the library & around the building.
