I served as the lead developer for a health savings account application that supports several hundred thousand insurance contract-holders.The primary job function was to oversee system design and development for all new functionality and enhancements. Responsibilities included coordinating work with customers and end users as well as all other applications and departments with whom application data is interchanged.The application used a Java JEE/JSF-based user interface, mainframe-based COBOL batch processing components, and interfaces utilizing web services, MQ, and flat files.Backend data for the application was stored in both DB2 and Oracle databases.

I was an application developer for a Java JEE-based criminal justice information sharing application suite utilized by many Pennsylvania state agencies, courts, and law enforcement personnel.From 2007-2008, I held the lead developer position on a project to automate registration of new application suite users and to manage their identities and roles. The system utilized Novell Identity Manager, eDirectory, and several custom Java web applications.I also enhanced and maintained other Java web applications that interacted with both SQL Server and Oracle databases as well as JMS message queues.

I was part of a team of programmers supporting logistics systems for the Department of Defense.I worked with business analysts to understand and implement system requirements.My primary responsibility was application development on both mainframe and client-server platforms.

I developed and enhanced several different application systems, including a JEE-based health savings account application; custom client-server software that enhanced capabilities of a managed care health insurance software suite; several client-server applications for internal finance department use; and a client-server based data warehouse system.The health savings account application served approximately 150,000 health insurance contract-holders for five different ASI customers.From 2000-2006, I worked directly with ASI’s external customers to develop specific solutions to solve their unique problems.From 1996-2000, I worked primarily with ASI’s internal finance department to develop custom budget, billing, and time reporting solutions.
