Helping the OSP Manager direct and coordinate the construction of a RUS FTTH for Grundy Electric Coop

As the OSP Engineer, my main task was to help the OSP Manager direct and coordinate the construction of a Fixed Wireless GPON network for Butler Electric Coop by:- Helping the inspection crews with and issues that came up in the field as well as provide up-to-date prints and changes that might occur.- Coordinating with aerial and underground contractors on progress of fiber construction- Performing inspections and corrections to Redline and AsBuilt drawings on 350 miles of fiber backbone- Collecting Make Ready information and coordinating with the customer’s Director of Operations to correct the Make Ready changes.- Applying for road and railway permits.- Collaborating with Engineering and Design on changes in routes

Responsible for make-ready work associated with aerial design for fiber to the home (FTTH) projects. This includes fiber installation assessments, coordination with pole owners, permitting, right-of-way, and related tasks to facilitate FTTH design and construction work.- Identify any NESC or Utility violations and revise point of attachment (POA) for fiber bundle to meet NESC and utility clearance requirements.- Complete pole surveys, pole loading analysis, drawings, and QC drawings in support of application preparation. - Support the design and engineering process by planning and preparing drawings for construction.- Develop, implement, and scale the end-to-end process for make-ready, permitting, right-of-way to accelerate FTTH design and construction.
