Over my career at NSWCDD I have held many positions. I spent my first almost 8 years as a combat system programmer. After that, I moved on to working in directed energy for almost 14 years. I have been the information assurance manager and information system security officer for my division, a group leader, project lead, technical lead, and an acting branch head for an extended period. Since May of 2013 I have work in the area of systems engineering for the Navy's Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program BLK 2(SEWIP) . I am currently the Lead Systems Engineer for the AN/SLQ-32(V)6 and C(V)6 systems.

I started working for the defense contractor HRB Singer as a "Summer Science" high school intern, but was then hired on to work part time during the school year and full time over the summer. This continued until a corporate buyout and merger caused a large number of layoffs at HRB. While at HRB I work on a number of programming task where a young programmer with no concept of what cannot or will to believe it couldn't be done in software would routinely surprise the senior team members.
