Senior Design Engineer, Transportation (January 2018 - December 2021) Managed the manufacturing launch of an updated 40' Proterra electric bus. Served as lead engineer for the glass fiber and carbon fiber composite laminate design and optimization. Developed a composite cab for a prototype class 8 truck as part of the DOE sponsored SuperTruck II program. Responsibilities include surface design in CATIA and analysis in ANSYS from conceptual design through the early build phase. Lead design activities for various customers in the automotive and heavy trucking industries including multiple design studies of composite structures and product design for an automotive component.Tooling Design Engineer (June 2017 to December 2017) Designed next-generation heated steel tooling for positioning metal inserts in a composite wind blade. Prepared drawings, sourced parts and assisted installation at an international facility.Global Wind Support (June 2015 to June 2017) Implemented of laser projection systems for wind turbine blade manufacturing, including developing a quality stage-gate process for model based manufacturing. Applied model-based manufacturing techniques to composite core design, achieving a high quality of fit with the first core flat pattern. Product Launch Support for GE 56.9, including VARTM infusion troubleshooting. Global process audits and risk assessments, including ISO 9001.

My thesis work at Lehigh has been highly hands-on, designing and building a fleet of 10 unmanned 1.2m boats using predominantly composite materials. As part of my research I have written software to aid in the design of self-righting boats, machined and turned parts, cut aluminum and foam molds for carbon fiber on CNC machines, made parts from these molds and assembled and tested working boat systems.
