Responsible for daily operations and maintenance of the KCBX terminal in Long Beach, CA, reporting to the Operations Manager. Established EHS programs and procedures to comply with regulatory agencies, including USCG, Cal OSHA, Long Beach Health Dept, CA Air Resource Board and the Port of Long Beach.

Designed and managed construction on a new 320K bbl asphalt storage plant in Bettendorf, IA, completed in less than 8 months and within budget. This storage system created an advantage for managing asphalt production from Pine Bend Refinery. Other projects at different sites include a vapor incineration system, tank farm fire suppression system, fuel blending system, asphalt tank repair projects, infrared heating system, automation system at bulk fuels terminals and a packaging system for asphalt products.

Designed and managed several projects at this specialty asphalt plant, including a pneumatic bulk handling system for clay and limestone, and a new asphalt mixing vessel used at the Stroud, OK plant and another asphalt facility in England. The new mixing vessel and bulk supply of clay/limestone created more efficient manufacturing of finished product and the quality of the mixing process was improved. Provided a methodology to analyze operating costs for asphalt plants.
