I was hired as a Lean Engineer and tasked with continuous improvement of the various manufacturing departments. While working at Hubbell Power Systems, I performed a variety of duties which include:-Tool Design-Feasibility Studies-Process Design-Cost Analysis for new parts-Cost Analysis for new products-Improved production tracking system-Organized Kaizan eventsContinuous improvement is an important part of the manufacturing industry as there were always ways I could help improve the plant safety and production. I worked with multiple engineers on various projects which included drawing layouts for new new manufacturing lines, calculating the estimated down time, and providing recommendations on feasibility. I worked with tool redesign for a drill, wrote up a cost analysis for the tools and parts necessary to re-equip this machine, and gave a recommendation for the project.
