Triska Energy is the Macro Distributor for Shell Lubricants throughout the island of Ireland.As Macro Distributor we are responsible for the sales, marketing, warehousing and distribution of Shell Lubricants including the Helix, Rimula, Spirax and Tellus rangesSince joining Triska in Jan 2015 my duties have included (but not limited to) the following:-- Processing receipts and payments, recording all financial transactions on accounting system.- Processing weekly and monthly payment runs and respond to payment queries.- Preparation and circulation of sales invoices along with credit control management.- Month end processes include bank reconciliations, cost and revenue accruals, AP & AR reviews, balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analysis.- Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts- Preparation and filing of Revenue Tax Returns (VAT, VIES, Intrastat, PAYE Returns on a monthly basis)- Management of accounts mailbox dealing with finance, banking, accounts payable and accounts receivable related queries.- Processing payroll for all staff members.- New customer and supplier system setup.

Whilst working in the daa I was a member of the HR team where I was involved in numerous projects that had a positive impact on the organisation surrounding the development of the training and compliance function of the business.My duties included but were not limited to:-• Raising purchase requisitions for training, office supplies and catering requirements and allocating costs to specific nominal ledger accounts.• Maintaining and reconciling the month end credit card and cheque payments revenue schedule for training courses delivered to external contractors.• Analysing and reporting on budgeted versus actual costs of training courses delivered for management.• Collating, inputting and analysing monthly catering expenses attributed to training courses. Redistribution of expenses across multiple business units and coding of same.• Collating and analysing large volumes of training data captured within system, inputting data to tables and charts for provision of statistical metrics to senior management.• Training and assisting other users in gaining knowledge of OLM, Oracle Discoverer, Oracle Procurement & internal shared site through on the job training.

I worked for Pfizer as a Vat analyst from July 2012 for a period of 11 months. Initially I was part of a four person team responsible for the Intrastat returns of a number of Pfizer's EU registered entities. We had a responsibility for filing over 102 reports on monthly basis. I had direct responsibility for the filing of Intrastat returns for four Irish registered entities each month with hugely siginificant values of arrivals and dispatches of goods.I was also directly involved in the preparation of the Intrastat reports for Pfizer entities in Portugal and Finland. I would often liaise with the Finnish and Portuguese markets ensuring that the reports I prepared were submitted to the respective tax authorities in a timely manner.Projects:-I also assisted other members of the Vat team on various projects they were involved in. These included reconciling statements of invoices and refunds to the third party service provider and ensuring these were correctly recorded.Identification and recording of FX differences within invoices for specific periods and compiling reports of these.For all Pfizer entities across EU markets I was involved in compiling and reporting data gathered from the vat returns for a variance and comparative analysis exercise over numerous accounting periods.Before my contract ended with Pfizer I had assumed responsibility for the preparation and submission of Vat returns for Belgian registered etities.

I worked with Careers Register as a recruitment consultant at the beginning of 2012 for a number of months.

I worked with PGL for three and half years completing my training contract as required by the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland. Initally I served as a junior accountant working within the audit services department of the company progressing through to semi-senior level at the time of my departure.Whilst with PGL I was involved in the preparation of a number of the firm’s client’s financial statements. My responsibilites included both Accounts preparation and Audit work. I gained extensive Audit & Accountancy experience in various sized businesses with turnovers ranging from €100k - €25m across numerous industries.On each engagement my work would often involve taking the client's books and records and preparing bank, debtors and creditors reconciliations & control accounts, maintaining fixed asset registers, calculating depreciation, computing PAYE, VAT and stock control accounts. Upon completion of the drafted financial statements I would carry out a detailed analytical review of Income Statement expenditure and conduct a comparative analysis to prior years expenditure, reporting variances or significant deviations. Throughout each assignment I would prepare an audit/accounts folder containing back up documentation of the figures reported in the financial statements and points of review and recommendations and present these to managers and partners for review.Other duties would have included on the job training of junior accountants and assiting various team members with audit/accounts engagements.My time with PGL shaped and developed my financial accountancy background and organisational skills where I have been regularly able to display and utilise these in my more recent working environments.
