My formal computer studies began at U of Waterloo’s Bachelor of Computer Science. Now at the University of Victoria, I have achieved A's in every subject – Analysis of Algorithms, Embedded Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Algorithms and Data Structure, as examples. In my last term I will complete Programming Languages, Randomized Algorithms, and Data Mining. My career detoured for 9 years when I veered into BC’s natural resource sector, where I held roles such as Team Lead, Senior Planning Technician, and as an unofficial help desk and technical subject matter expert. While completing my studies, I continue to work for Strategic Natural Resource Consultants in a remote computer role, quite different from my field-work as project manager in resource projects.In 2020, I knew it was time to complete my degree and make a change and honour my passion for software and programming.I offer my next employer a strong record of productivity and performance:✔Learner –Whether on or off the job, I continually learn. I consume enormous amounts of information related to software, but not only software – my curiosity runs deep!✔Intellection – This strength builds on the “Learner” in me – I enjoy tossing ideas around in brainstorming sessions, and I am also known to be a good listener who respects everyone’s input.Improved GPS user experience by advocating for, and leading, replacement of aging equipment. ✔Analytical – Leveraging critical thinking, deductive reasoning, and other investigative methods is second nature. It is not something that ever stops functioning in my thoughts.It’s this strength, in particular, that helps me earn top marks in computer science. ✔Relator – I like people. I like contributing to team efforts. I enjoy mentoring.
