About Scott Mack

I am a experienced and passionate person with skills in Systems Engineering as well as Network/Systems Administration. I am always eager to learn about technologies and how they interact with each other in the overall system. I am detail oriented, a self starter and a great team player. I have the ability to use methodical as well as creative troubleshooting techniques to bring solutions to issues that may arise and I am very mission-focused. I never see a job as too small or insignificant. For the past twenty years I have been working in RF communications with Lockheed Martin, fifteen of which have been maintaining the computer control systems and network. I have moved from a technician to shift lead to Subsystem Responsible Engineer in a short period of time. I am currently the senior engineer for the computer control systems, providing leadership to five sites.I have:-Implemented five network upgrades to include migrating from layer 3 switching environment to routing and switching environment, integrating firewalls and VPN tunnels for secure cross-site connections, and Cisco Virtual Switching System (VSS) clustering to increase overall network availability-Migrated AIX and Windows infrastructure from separate physical servers to a virtualized Linux and Windows environment on VMware vSphere 5.5-Assisted integration and transition of new RF hardware and associated computer control system, moving from dedicated hardware-based RF equipment to computer/server-based RF system running a mixed physical and virtual environment on vSphere 6.7-Utilized creative troubleshooting techniques to recognize and troubleshoot several anomalies, including issues with satellite downlinks, network timing corruption causing service disconnections, RAID storage array I/O corruption, memory leaks with Cisco switches and routers, and fiber optic cabling issues between the VMware servers and SAN storage before they could cause major impacts to the mission-Received six “Hero of the Week” awards for quickly resolving mission impacting issues, restoring mission capabilities, and reducing system downtime from several hours or days down to 4 hours or less-Received five Special Recognition Awards for implementing major system upgrades within budget and ahead of or on schedule-Currently hold a TS/SCI clearance with poly.
