I am a seasoned ecologist, project manager and conservationist. I have been working as an Ecological Consultant for over five years and have been involved with a great variety of projects that require expert ecological input. As Senior Ecologist for EcoNorth (commercial arm of Northumberland Wildlife Trust) I provide upfront and clear support to my clients to ensure they are up to date on all aspects of ecology on their site, for any type of project. I work alongside a variety of clients from small scale developments to large scale infrastructure projects, including housing developments and road realignment schemes. I believe building relationships with people and clients not only helps achieve their goals, but also helps to instil a passion to help in wildlife protection and biodiversity gain.To achieve this informed advice, I conduct a variety of detailed protected species and habitat surveys, providing ecological support and reporting to a range of clients and partnership organisations nationwide. I have a first-class degree in Environmental Management, during which I received a national award from my thesis and I also hold a number of licences for protected species and have been the Named Ecologist on species mitigation licences. My primary interest is with habitats and protected / notable flora and I am continuously developing my expertise in this area, along with Habitat Regulations Assessments (HRAs) and Ecological Impact Statements (EIAs). I have a great passion for all aspects of ecology and can often be found surveying for bats, otters, invertebrates and a whole host of other species. When not providing advice, or crawling through a woodland, you can find me walking, running, wildlife watching or flying my drone. I also sit on the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management North East Section Committee.
