This is a charity I co-founded to introduce a bike park/trail centre in the Lennoxtown area. The project is estimated to be worth in the region of £0.5million for phase one. Through community consultation with local residents and stakeholders we now have permission for a 4 hectare bike park which is currently at the design stage. By building community capacity through community development in the avenue of regeneration we hope to develop a world class bike park to benefit the local community. I have had experience with gaining community support, stakeholders, chairing meetings, landowners and governance of starting and running a charitable organisation. Through future projects and knowledge of current policy relating to community development, youth work and adult learning we hope to build a sustainable project which will empower the community to become healthier, build self confidence and become more involved in their community. This will be achieved by meeting the following outcomes: events, a club structure, coaching and guiding in mountain biking and increased through traffic leading to more spend in the area leading to jobs created. Qualified as a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor I am sanctioned to teach people to drive to DSA standards. Maintaining control of pupils actions through verbal and physical instruction whilst managing the expectations of the learner is something I am experienced at. Each lesson ends with a lesson review explaining what they did, the goals achieved and the plan for the next lesson, therefore assessment of pupils and self evaluation is something I do on a day to day basis.
