As the Technology Director of the Broking Technology function within Corporate Risk and Broking- I partnered with our broking business to shape and build a market leading global digital broking platform. A platform that digitises the value chain from Client to Carrier; providing a sophisticated set of tools ensuring our brokers have high quality, structured data at their fingers tips throughout the process.Our technology team encompasses; Product, Programme and DevOps/Engineering capabilities. Broking Technology sits alongside the broking and operations teams and together we drive forward the digital transformation of our broking business.Using innovative cloud technology and a DevOps culture the team can deliver rapid value to our business partners through; close engagement/partnership, clear roadmap prioritisation and goal setting, continuous integration processes with constant feedback loops and validation.One of my key achievements during my career at WTW was being the driving force in changing the way our business partners perceive the value of technology and helping them understand their role in technology projects & products being successful. We did this by proving that iterative delivery, innovation driven through experimentation and learning fast delivers better outcomes.While doing this I was also instrumental in reshaping our engineering team structure. Key changes I implemented included rebalancing our on/offshore mix and usage of partners and bringing engineering closer to the business and the problems we were trying to solve. Alongside this, fostering a team culture of joint ownership of building, testing, deploying and supporting everything we build as a team.
