Scott McClain is President and owner of Third Coast Appraisal, LLC. He holds the Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) designation in Machinery and Technical Specialties (MTS), is a licensed and active auctioneer in the state of Texas, and has extensive experience in the valuation and sale of a wide variety of tangible industrial assets and inventories.After graduating from UT Austin in 1993, Mr. McClain began a ten-year career in finance, where he acquired multiple securities licenses - Series' 7, 63, 55, 6 and a Group 1. From 2010 to 2018, Mr. McClain managed the tangible asset valuation division at Statesman Business Advisors, a premier investment banking and financial advisory firm in Houston, Texas. Mr. McClain provides litigation support for attorneys, ad valorem consultants, and individual industrial clients. His experience in finance gives him greater understanding of the needs of lenders, regulatory bodies, and taxing authorities. He has experience conducting sales and valuations of plant machinery, lab equipment, food processing machinery, oilfield equipment, inventory, high-tech gear, medical equipment, rolling stock, and standard office furniture and fixtures.His continued involvement in the liquidation and auction industries gives him insight into secondary market trends, allowing for greater accuracy in determining the value of property. His client list includes commercial banks, attorneys, private equity groups, tax consultants, CPA’s, receiverships, auditors and insurance companies.He is on the approved appraiser list of over fifteen (15) commercial lenders and regularly provides independent, third party appraisals for some of Texas’ most prominent tax consultants.
