Leading a team of Cloud Architects and Data Engineers, I assisted our clients in migrating and developing a range of solutions that optimise the benefits of using Cloud technology. Building bespoke machine learning models, deploying scalable containerised services on Kubernetes and using hybrid architectures to migrate and extend the life of legacy applications are examples of some of the work undertaken in my role.

Assisting large enterprise clients migrate legacy applications to Google Cloud and G Suite was the focus of my role while working as a Google Cloud Architect with the Dialog Google Solutions Practice. Using the Google Gmail, Drive and Directory APIs, I leveraged Google Cloud Platform resources to build custom functionality in G Suite to suit specific client needs and requirements.

Working as a Data Engineer on the Willow project, my responsibilities were focused on architecting and maintaining a system that parsed SQL data sources into a graph format that was suitable for consumption by natural language querying. An API built with this system provided a simple REST interface that allowed other services to query and utilise the system.

RIO TINTO IRON ORE – CAPE LAMBERT OILY WATER SEPARATOR UPGRADEFrom design to installation, the Cape Lambert Oily Water Separator Upgrade project was a turnkey solution that finished ahead of schedule and under budget. Responsibilities included the design and selection of key mechanical components, structural design and site management.BHP BILLITON – AREA C MEM WORKSHOP UPGRADEEngineering responsibilities included the structural design of a new MEM workshop, HV wash down area and tyre change facility Responsibilities included designing these items to BHP requirements and specifications. An improved methodology was developed for the design of concrete slabs used for servicing heavy vehicles which resulted in a substantial decrease in the amount of concrete and steel required.

AGC – GORGON LIFTING FRAMESSteel skids were designed to allow for the safe transportation of large bore, high pressure piping to be used at the Gorgon and Jansz gas projects via sea barge. The complex design included the use of high capacity webbed load restraints, sea acceleration loading and steelwork designed to AS 3990.RIO TINTO IRON ORE – WEST ANGELAS FUEL INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTEngineering responsibilities included the structural design of pipe supports, crossover platforms, various shelters, the oily water separator and train unloading platforms.GLOBAL ADVANCED MINERALS – GREENBUSHES PLANT CONDITION ENGINEERING REVIEWA plant condition review was carried out on the Tantalum Primary processing facility located at Greenbushes and an estimate was made on the capital expenditure that would be required to restart the facility in a 12 month period. Responsibilities included taking photos of and reporting on the condition of structural steel and concrete of the facility.

NEWMONT - TANAMI DEEP SHAFT PROJECTAn underground facility was designed to extend the life of the Tanami gold mine by processing and conveying gold via a deep shaft. Tasks included the development of standard calculations to support structural drawings standards and crane design which included the design of monorail, overhead gantry and underslung gantry cranes.VERVE ENERGY – KWINANA POWER STATION CANAL UPGRADERefurbishment of the cooling water canal was to be undertaken at the Kwinana Power Station. Responsibilities included the design of the box piles and steel sheet piles that were embedded into the sea floor.

Acting in a supporting role as an undergraduate engineer, broad exposure was given to the various roles seen in an engineering consulting firm. Responsibilities included document control, project management and engineering design.
