My responsibilities include software solution designs, working with developers on and off shore to build the solutions and our testing team to ensure the quality of the final product.

My primary focus has been in the Specialty Pharmaceutical Distribution (SPD) although I also did some work on the Kinray integration of Suspicious Order Monitoring (SOM) system. I have worked on several large projects including the SPD Expansion, Enhanced Substitutions, Novis, and others. I have also been involved in the day to day support involving various aspects of the system. I have built expertise in several areas of SPD including Customer Contracts, Pricing Engine, Enhanced Substitution Engine, Credit & Rebill, etc.

Intrigue part of the Retail Ventures Inc.’s team to replace Value City’s legacy system with JDA MMS (4R6). RVI operates off-price department stores in the US through it’s wholly owned subsidiaries Value City Department Stores (113 stores), DSW Inc. (199 stores) and Filene’s Basement (27 stores). Scott was involved from the beginning including the conversion of Value City’s legacy data to JDA MMS system. Worked on various in-house written systems as well as JDA MMS. The sole person supporting the companies Store Inventory Management Systems (SIMS) which interfaced critical data between the JDA host system and the individual stores including item, purchase orders, manifests, merchandise transfers, hierarchy and markdown information. Made various enhancements to JDA MMS modules including Sales Audit, Cycle Counts, Pricing, Sales Analysis and Transfers. Led a number of projects while at RVI including multiple SIMS releases.

Part of the Limited’s corporate team to centralize all its IP divisions (Lane Bryant, Limited Too, Limited Stores, Structure, Lerner New York, Victoria’s Secret, and Express). This team enhanced the Island Pacific software that was utilized by Victoria’s Secret Stores and converted six other divisions to a standard suite of software packages on the AS/400 known as the “Core”. Involved in many other projects at the Limited including conversions, upgrades, modifications, enhancements, etc. to the Island Pacific software and custom “bolt-ons”. This included extensive documentation and communications in the form of writing functional and detail designs, implementation and change management instructions, system documentation and project status.

Worked at various divisions of the Limited Corporation. Assigned to assist with Bath & Body Works Y2K efforts and make various enhancements to their JDA Merchandising software and interfaces. In fall of 1997, recruited to assist in the installation of the Island Pacific software at Lane Bryant. Assigned to work at Limited Too to assist that division in installing the Island Pacific software. Assigned to assist the Victoria Secret Stores team to upgrade their Island Pacific software to the latest version from the “core”. Each of these projects was large and required uniquely different approaches. Each project included development, testing, implementation, end user training along with appropriate documentation.

Worked at Heartland Food Systems to convert and install the Lawson FA, AP, and GL financial modules.

Started out working at a small AS400 shop called Columbus Industries where I made several enhancements to their custom software. Then assigned to make enhancements for Medex’s PRMS software. Then assigned to work at Heartland Food Systems to convert and install the Lawson FA, AP, and GL financial modules. Once that project was complete, assigned to work at Bath & Body Works to install their E3 Replenishment system, which lead to many other projects for Bath & Body Works. Some of the other projects include JDA conversion, installation, enhancements and patches; Lawson Fixed Asset installation, conversion, interfaces and support; Park City interfaces; Store Operations design, coding, installation, and support.

Worked on various enhancements to the in-house developed Health Maintenance Plan (HMP) Claims Processing System. This system is a Managed Care Medical insurance product. Had ten direct reports. Took on the responsibilities of several other projects outside the normal HMP system. Included were the Self-Study Training area, Common Module Facility and System Security/Object Management objectives. Responsibilities included prioritizing work load, leading and assigning work to other staff members as well as system and functional designs, coding, testing, and installing supporting various enhancements to the company’s custom claims processing system. Trained in and utilized the Ernst & Young Project Management methodology. Responsible for performing employee evaluations, hiring additional staff members and budgeting training/projects.

Served at a number of clients including Community Mutual Insurance Company (now Anthem), Credit Bureau of Columbus (CBC), Consolidated Stores, Victoria’s Secret Stores and Family Vacation Services.

Participated in the enhancement, maintenance of RPG III applications in support of the Magazine Distribution and Payroll systems. Responsibilities included analysis, design, coding, testing, end-user training, installation, and documentation of various applications. The environment was a configuration of six IBM System/38s that were networked together and sharing of data using networked files. Designed and wrote a system to allow publishers remote dial-up capabilities and on-line access to magazine distribution information. Enhanced the Security Management System which was custom written.

Initially, served on a team charged with enhancing an on-line manufacturing package called PACS. The system, which resided on a three-System/38 configuration, was written using RPG II, RPG III, and utilized Open Query files. Later designed, developed and implemented a system to document all changes made to the PACS software. The interactive system was written in RPG III and included project tracking on in-process modifications. Employed Open Query, Logical, Join Logical files and sub-files in completing the project. Interfaced stored documents with the text management capabilities for purposes of supporting help functions.

Responsible for the support of approximately 30 IBM personal computers users. His duties included the evaluation, recommendation, installation and training of PC hardware and software requests. Solely responsible for the evaluation and selection of a product called MRC-Query. This product provided all users (DP and end-users) with a menu driven system to complete on-line inquiries, maintenance and requests for reports. After acquiring the software, installed the package and trained the MIS community and subsequently assisted in the end-user training.

Supported the installation and enhancement of IBM MAPICS software. He also assisted in the conversion from MAPICS I to MAPICS II applications and the conversion of an IBM System/34 to a System/38.
