Dining out is meant to be an experience. And no experience is ever the same. That is why I have committed my time and energy into creating atmospheres that build lifelong memories for you and your loved ones. My name is Scott McCray and I own and operate six restaurants, all of which offer something delicious and different. I love coming up with creative concepts with my brother, Randy McCray, and fine-tuning them to fit the Atlanta area’s various dining niches. For instance, McCray’s Tavern focuses on southern inspired pub-style food while The Mill Kitchen and Bar provides farm-to-table fare. Foxtrot Liquor Bar is a craft cocktail lounge, whereas Tiki Tango is a multi-level bar designed to transport guests to an island oasis. There is also Carolyn’s Gourmet Café, named after my mother, and Hook, Line, and Schooner, which won the 2018 Reader’s Choice award for Best Seafood and Best New Restaurant in Smyrna Vinings Lifestyle magazine. I enjoy the chaos of operating all of these restaurants- no two days are the same. This work has grown my customer service, leadership, and management skills in ways I am very grateful for. In 2014 my brother and I formed the LEAD (Let’s Eat and Drink) Hospitality Group. This organization has helped us manage our restaurants as a collective entity rather than individual concepts. I will never exchange quantity for quality. Our restaurants’ ability to win multiple awards is a testament to this fact. McCrays Tavern won the 2018 Best Tavern in Smyrna Vinings Lifestyle Magazine and was also voted in the Top 10 Restaurants in Lawrenceville by Culture Trip. The restaurant business is more than the food business- it’s the people business. From my 20+ years in the restaurant world I understand the value every one of our employees brings to the table. It is my hope that each customer and employee would feel so welcome in our restaurants that they come to consider themselves as family and friends, as we do to them.
