I am a highly driven and creative individual with an excellent knowledge and working understanding of the music events industry. I have more than 12 years experience in the Scottish music industry and 6 years with events, marketing and sales through my own business named Platform 18. I have progressed my career through founding and developing said business, based in Glasgow, to be one of Scotland’s leading electronic music events. I take care of all event logistics regarding Platform 18. Working within this fast paced environment has provided me with a wealth of unique experiences, knowledge and skills which I believe I can use and apply to a variety of roles. In December 2018 myself and two partners came together to purchase Club 69 located in Paisley. My main roles within the club are to organize all artists, manage ticket outlets, event sales and brand sponsorship for the bar. I also manage our budgets with regards to booking artists and dealing with management fee’s. I use my expertise, experience and valuable contacts in the industry to attract some of the biggest electronic names to the 180-capacity venue. With rising DJ fee’s and vast competition, I’m able to use my negotiation skills to still secure high profile bookings for a club with very little budget availableOn top of all this I gained great experience as a brand activation manager with Glasgow based events company Badaboom. Badaboom are owned by the C&C Group, looking after huge brands such as Tennent’s, Red Bull, Asahi, Magners Cider, Grey Goose and many more. My role has been to work across all brands in both customer facing environments and internal. Duties include liaising with the account handler for the specific brand on their requirements to executing events and activations at a ground level. The largest brand activation I have worked on would be with Asahi in where we executed 20 events over 2 weeks in London. This consisted of taking over some of London’s coolest venues and bars with a premium approach to promoting Asahi Japanese Lager.During my time at Badaboom I have grown on my organisation and management skills; managing teams and executing events to the highest standards. This was clear to see in the latest Tennent’s trade shows at Murrayfield and SWG3 where I had to organise, delegate, build and activate over 30 bars/stalls for well known drink brands.
