I’ve been consulting for small to medium sized software and hi-tech companies for the past 6 years, while travelling between engagements. My travel objectives have all been accomplished and I am would like to return to a full-time challenging position in the Vancouver area.

Reporting to the CEO, I was responsible for the direction of the finance and administration departments of this hi-tech internet company. NewspaperDirect is a world leader in the out-of-market newspapers sold via the internet. Broad scope of authority included guidance for all:1) Corporate Finance and Accounting 2) Investor Relations 3) Taxation & Legal Issues Oversaw all financial aspects of this privately held company with a customer/supplier base in 60 plus countries. Established strong financial reporting structure for the 5 member board of directors. Dealt with all finance and administrative issues for NewspaperDirect. Hi-lights of key contributions were:Shareholder IssuesPoint man for NewspaperDirect’s 3rd and 4th private placements. Discussions with both legal council and CEO regarding various considerations and requirements associated with share issuances. Strategic InitiativesSpearheaded the creation of a CCPC (Canadian Controlled Private Corporation) within this foreign owned group of companies. The new legal entity provided compliance for SR&ED claims. Savings expected over the following 4 years estimated at Cdn.$1,000,000+. Financial Responsibilities and Bottom-Line Improvements Responsible for the planning, timing, preparatory work and completion of annual audit and opinion expressed by auditors. Directed, managed and reported on all cash flow issues and concerns.Oversaw the design, preparation and completion of NewspaperDirect’s annual and three year projections. Managed all relationships with corporate bankers, auditors and lawyers.
