Hi my names Scott and I'm from a construction background, I'm a plumber and heating engineer to trade that is know trying to change careers and get offshore. Would take any job if giving the chance as its proving quite hard to get off without being offshore before. Would start as a roustabout and i would love to go into rigging or banks man and slinging. My goal is to try and get into crane ops but i understand that it is a hard job to get into. I've sat all my tickets and added some extras to try and maximise my chances of getting offshore, so I have sat my riggers stage 1 and also my Banks man and slinging stage 1 as you have to work in these jobs for a while before even getting considered for assistant crane ops. I would even go off as a stewards just to get myself experience and a foot in the door to help me work towards my goal of being a crane operator. I have also sat and passed my offshore medical aswellWould love for someone to look by me having no experience and take a chance on me as I'm a good worker that always gives 100%, can work good on my own or as part of a team and i follow rules and instructions very well. Never off wok and always up for constant learning on the job through watching others or onshore courses. In my new job I'm using my training in Banks man and slinging, i work for a utilities company and on a daily basses I'm banks man for the machine operator and I've also got to sling loads in between. I'm slinging loads of any between 250mm/315mm gas and water mains and these come in 6m/12m lengths. I'm also learning how to but fuse weld this pipe. Im installing these mains as well with a qualified mains layer and learning from them. Yours faithfully Scott McLeod
