-Managed the entire design control process for two infection monitoring incontinence products including analytical testing, the CE mark technical file compilation, FDA registration process, and product launch in an early stage, bootstrap startup-Devised new smart diaper specific analytical device verification protocols and supervised their completion by Pixie staff-Simplified product sensor from 9 components to 3 and managed the analytical testing and design control process for updated product launch-Worked with an international manufacturing partner to produce a new type of sensor components-Built FDA compliant product manufacturing and quality management system in a Manhattan WeWork-Successfully pitched a hydration sensor design for development collaboration with a large personal care products company-Supervised an R&D staff of up to 6 engineers, research scientists, and interns

- Designed and synthesized new polymeric dye-surface binders that stabilize hydration urinalysis reagent color response from minutes to hours- Formulated stabilized urinalysis reagents at lab scale and worked with a manufacturing partner for pilot scale production- Wrote analytical protocols to train smartphone visual sensing algorithms and study product performance, and managed their execution by research technicians- Expanded the binder chemistry to include other urine analytes

- Led a team of other postdocs to design, computationally simulate, synthesize and evaluate a new series of halogenated metal-organic frameworks (MOFs, porous, infinite coordination polymers) in a novel study of the effects of surface polarizability on noble gas adsorption- Synthesized and investigated MOFs as new scintillating materials for radiation detection, work for which our group was nominated twice for an Employee Recognition Award.- Built and managed a chemistry lab, including purchasing equipment and setting up and supervising regulatory and safety protocols- Authored monthly and quarterly reports and presented research in biannual projects meetings to the DOEDesigned new procedures for integrating MOFs into polymer composites for scintillation and adsorption processes

- Designed and synthesized a new class of isobenzofuran based organic near-infrared dyes including a library of over 20 variants- Evaluated dyes as contrast agents for the imaging of β-amyloid plaques (Alzheimer’s marker) in collaboration with researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital- Developed new synthetic methodology to replace oxygen with sulfur in isobenzofuran containing compounds- Investigated the incorporation of the heterocycle isobenzofuran into conjugated polymers, ROMP polymers, and CVD coatings
