Having migrated the legacy licensing system written in LINC to a licensing application from the software vendor Tyler Technologies, I am now augmenting and supporting their Versa Regulation licensing system using Oracle PL/SQL.Managing a staff of five support and development personnel as we sustain and augment the enterprise database application for a licensing agency with a staff of 140.As we prepare for a full conversion to an entirely new licensing system, the future has never been brighter.

IT manager’s right hand man while tripling size of department for national fabric distributor from 2 to 6 employees, replaced terminals with a 100 client TCP/IP network, plus 25 servers and 35 laptops for outside sales for a national fabric distributor with $50 million/year in sales, 4 branchs, and over 200 employees.Performed system analysis, design, and programming for Distribution Inventory Management System using EAD for an MCP system using a DMS II database.Converted outgoing correspondence to email/fax, reducing postage expenses. 1000s of documents automatically faxed or emailed every day.Feasability study of conversion options for existing legacy MCP system. Evaluated 6 different vendors, including Java with Oracle, Asysco LION with Microsoft SQL Server, Unisys Windows EAE with Microsoft SQL Server and Unisys AB Suite for Visual Studio .Net, implementing either to MCP with DMSII or to Windows with Microsoft SQL Server.

Founded & operated firm offering services including Windows networking, website development, consulting, email and website hosting, and computer training.Developed and hosted websites for several small businesses. Microsoft Front Page, Dreamweaver, & Net Objects Fusion.Programming contract for Fritz Companies in Coppell, TX for Y2K for two systems written in LINC II. Fixed over 5000 date conversions in two months. Fritz Companies has since been purchased by UPS and is now called UPS Supply Chain Solutions.Programming contract for Fritz Companies in San Francisco, CA for conversion of legacy accounting application written in LINC II to CODA accounting application.Programming contract for Frank Kasmir Associates for conversion of Accounts Receivable legacy system written in BASIX to LINC II on MCP using a DMS II database. Graphicalized invoices using DEPCON, eliminating preprinted forms. Invoices included four metafile overlays and over 100 data dependent attributes.

Performed system analysis, design, and programming for ocean export system for documentation. Consolidated over 15 customs documents, including bills of lading and hazardous materials certificates, into one sleeping LINC report.

Performed system analysis, design, and programming for ocean export system, using LINC II with graphical user interface using Designer WorkBench. Responsibilities included customer and shipment inquiry, invoicing, shipment tracking, EDI, and customer master file import form the customs brokerage system.Performed system analysis, design, and programming for Unisys customer Fritz Companies’ customs house brokerage system. Responsibilities included the following modules: user security definition and enforcement, national and local account entry and maintenance. Only person on 25-person project hired by the client.

Performed system analysis, design, and programming for distribution inventory management system. Responsibilities included the following modules: invoice, sales and purchase order entry and inquiry, and gross profit reporting.Upgraded EDI interface to current standards and implemented automation for future upgrades.Streamlined inquiry process by adding painted global logic to all menu screens for instant access by order number and invoice number.Rewrote existing reports to use On.Change; command, reducing maintenance costs by cutting down the number of lines of code by 50% and making the existing code easier to read.Introduced the site to the LINC Design Assistant, graphically documenting the existing system.

On Project with Unisys to develop fortune 500 Human Resources Application. Helped write 500 page Human Resources System design document. Evaluated competitor’s systems from MSA, McCormack & Dodge, Dun & Bradstreet, and PeopleSoft to ensure competitive functionality.Designed skills management & learning system. The system assigned & evaluated skills for applicants & employees, establish succession planning & compensation strategies for all corporate positions, & evaluate the effectiveness of training classes.Skills also updated, added, or deleted by superiors as part of salary and performance review. Documentation of employee’s progress was thorough and detailed.Succession planning automated inquiry of applicant and employee skill data compared to the skills profile defined for the open position. Also worked well for finding temporary substitutes for people on leave or vacation.

Trained programmers using the LINC Systems Approach for manufacturing system for Spartan Mills. Participated in the evaluation of LINC II to replace COBOL as the primary development language at Spartan Mills.Wrote tutorial on control break reporting using LINC for COBOL programmers at Spartan Mills. Emphasized use of extra frames to make programs easier to read and maintain.Rewrote entire physical inventory system in LINC II.

Converted 2 IBM System 34 RPG systems to 1 Unisys A-Series LINC II System. Rewrote systems from psuedo-code.
