I practice as a civil litigator. I have a law license in both Michigan and Illinois. My work inlcudes: handling initial client interview and follow-up meetings; writing and responding to pleadings, correspondence, and mediation/arbitration summaries; conducting legal research, participating in the written discovery process; negotiating settlement agreements; attending and arguing motions; setting up probate files including Guardianships and Decedent Estates; reviewing contracts and insurance policies; and participating in trials, evidentiary hearings, motion hearings, social security hearings, settlement conferences, arbitrations, facilitations, and depositions. I have also authored multiple appellate briefs, including the successful appellate response brief to the Michigan Supreme Court in Ferguson v Pioneer State Mutual Insurance Company. I obtained a 3.2 million dollar judgment in a wrongful death case. I have successfully defeated multiple summary disposition (judgment) motions against big corporations including Ford, NAIAS, and major insurance companies in the state of Michigan.

Researched and wrote bench memoranda on social security benefit issues, bank fraud, and First Amendment law. Reviewed pleadings and prepared one-page case summaries for numerous cases. Created case summary in complicated class action concerning shareholder ERISA-based rights. Witnessed motion practice, hearings, pretrial status conferences, depositions, trials, sentencing, naturalizations and voir dire.

Clerked for law firm which represented numerous school boards in financing transactions and litigation. Filed documents in the appropriate courts. Closed case files, developed and implemented a reference file system.

Directed, planned, and educated the basics of Boy Scouts to 10-20 underprivileged children attending Lansing’s inner-city school system. Acted as a liaison between school administrators, parents, and Scout Council.
