Heavily involved with Prysmian's assembly operation in Hutchinson Kansas for an OEM located in Kansas. Also, focused on large solar projects and OEM's offering Prysmian's new economical line of aluminum and copper Photovoltaic (PV) cable designs.

Technical Sales Engineer of high performance wire and cable designs for wind turbine applications globally. My primary focus is on the growth of Prysmian/Draka’s share of the US Renewable Energy market and all technical and sales related matters within this market. This role requires a reasonable amount of customer visits and travel to job sites, in addition to working closely with the global wind group to assure consistent product offering. • Work closely with all major OEM’s such as Acciona, GE, Gamesa, Nordex USA, Vestas Nacelles, and Siemens Wind.• Assist with meeting a multi million dollar annual budget.• Coordinated the setup of a Medium Voltage assembly facility.• Assisted with the project management of a successful 34 tower electrical service project in Michigan overseeing 17 personnel.• Heavily involved in establishing a location (worked with Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce) planning and setup of a successful 15,000+ wire and cable assembly facility in Hutchinson Kansas.

During this period, I concentrated on the development of new innovative products, and supported our sales organization with frequent customer visits and presentations, established a successful RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous substances) program. Draka PA’s RoHS standard now provides the confidence to identify and mark a cable construction as “RoHS” compliant. Supported the sales organization with frequent customer visits and technical presentations.• New products developed for special deep well, high flexing, lighting, utility, transit and wind applications.• New development projects that exceeded $6.2M annually or 5.7% of sales in 2008.• Responsible for all third party approvals (UL, CSA and ETL) for public safety by utilizing internal third party approved labs.• Lead team in a successful “RoHS” implementation program assuring identified raw material components are compliant to the European RoHS standards.

Oversaw the product development department and the process engineering department with the intent to develop innovative products, at the same time improve the material processing, achieving maximum machine speeds and implement changes in all related areas in need of improvement.• Implemented process design guides for single and double twist bunchers. • Lead compound management team achieving the goal of reducing compound inventory types by 25%• Assisted in the development of an in house high performance XLPE.

Promoted to oversee and run Draka’s engineering department while serving as Product Development Manager. This dual role assisted our engineering group toward completion of the most cost effective designs and processes, while simultaneously implementing efficient standards. During this time, I worked on the qualification of new compounds with Draka’s major vendors, reducing costs where possible.• Implemented a high performance moisture cure resin for airport lighting cable and cost effective multi conductor cable designs. • Developed reduced diameter XLPE moisture cure tray cable designs in order to stay competitive in the tray cable industry.• Lead team in the development of a reduced diameter LSOH cable design.

Managed the development of new and innovative products that helped increase sales and profitability of the company. During this time period, I also acquired ownership of third party approvals and certifications such as UL, CSA and ETL. This combination aided in accelerating new products to the market place in a timely manner.

I supported the Director of Product Development by planning new projects, producing product development samples, assuring that appropriate third party testing and lab testing protocols were followed up in a timely manner. Also setup and evaluated experimental projects in order to improve numerous processes and throughput times within the factory.
