  • Challney High School For Boys And Community College
Teacher Of History / Teacher Of Psche [Pdhpe Health]
Challney High School For Boys And Community College Sep 2015 - Sep 2017
    Luton, United Kingdom
During my time at this dynamic academy school, I have gained great insights into the English education system. As well as new experiences such as leading on History Club activities, mentoring Year 11 students. As well as opportunities to expand my teaching role with pastoral care, and SEN support, through being involved with the newly introduced vertical tutoring and house system. This experience has allowed me to develop my understanding of the students attending Challney with building greater professional understandings of the impact on critical thinking in lower SEN areas across the school. By facilitating a form group within this structure I've been able to assess the needs of all students in my form group to ensure that they have a positive experience of education. Teaching in England has also given me the opportunity to expand my teaching ability with the school’s history department focus directed towards Modern History in the traditional educational sense, teaching Germany as society study following its defeat after World War One to the death of Adolf Hitler, and the World after 1918 with the new AQA specification Conflict and tension 1918-1935. While the year 10 AQA focus is heavily influenced by the new 'British Vales' directive. My extracurricular activities within the school include assisting on History Club for the department, as well as Model United Nations, where students have seen success at conferences being awarded back to back best position paper awards.Facilitating learning for: Key Stage 3 History Year 7Year 8Key Stage 3 Ancient History [Elective Class] Year 8Key stage 3 PSCHE Year 7Year 8Key Stage 4 History Year 9 GCSE - AQA History Specifications - Germany Democracy and Dictatorship - Conflict and Tension 1918-1939Year 10 GCSE - AQA History Specifications- Britain: Health and the People- Elizabethan England 1558-1603
