Facilities Manager
Managing a team of people carrying out hard services maintenance and small project works across a number of high profile buildings on our Transport for London contract
Fm / Project / Mobilisation Manager - Shopping Centres
A confident, dedicated and diligent commercial manager with three years’ experience in the facilities management industry. I am currently seeking a new opportunity to further develop my career. I managed U.K. wide shopping centre accounts for the past year, following a two-year graduate programme at the leading FM company, Interserve. This experience allowed me to work across numerous business support and management roles, and I have a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. My current aim is to secure a challenging role in a market-leading or a progressive FM company, where I can bring fresh strategic vision and added value to the business.I have experience of creating a strategic project plan, and leading mobilisation projects with a value of between £500k to £2m per annum. I managed security, maintenance & engineering, and cleaning teams involving upwards of 20 people per team, and been responsible for disciplinary processes, structural business changes, and the auditing of seven figure accounts.I have successfully managed the stakeholder process for major projects in the retail sector and been responsible for budgeting and cost control to strict margins. The main responsibilities included:• Liaised with finance management to prepare budgets and yearly sales plan• Implemented savings of 10%, while managing a portfolio of four accounts • Worked with multi-million-pound budgets and increased profit margins• Managed major projects across the business unit• Interviewed then trained employees, reviewing their performance in line with company policy• Established improvement plans when employees failed to maintain standards• Managed scheduling, budgeted hours and payroll for 80+ employees on monthly basis• Engaged closely with supply chain, fostering good relationships and building trust between partners• Attended KPI Meetings and reported monthly to a wide range of clients across the U.K.
Graduate
Working in four different placements at six months a time over two years, I have learned a range of skills which are highlighted below:Placement 1: Supporting the Sales Team and Bid Managers in winning new business for the company. Bid writing, costing, and market researching the business environment were just some of the activities I performed during my time here. Placement 2: Key part of mobilising a new cleaning contract for Sainsbury's across the whole of Kent. Main tasks include attending Sainsbury's stores presenting infront of cleaning teams introducing the company to TUPE'd staff members, organizing uniform, ordering material and consumables, retrieving Rights to Work and other HR documents, asset managing and general area manager duties. After the mobilisation was completed, I was transferred into Sainsbury's Holborn to support the TFM team at their corporate site. This included shadowing all the people and services we provided at the site which included, Floor Management, Post Room, Front of House, Engineering, Finance and Project Management in order to gain valuable corporate FM experience.Placement 3: Procurement. A new procurement and invoicing software system (Microsoft Dynamics) was introduced which only gave a small number of licences out to certain number of people which I was one of. I was responsible for buying all of the materials and consumables for our London 'Lancaster' cleaning contracts (around 400 sites) and invoicing. As this was a new system being used, I was tasked to analyse and report on the volume of ordering across all of our sites in order to establish what sort of manpower we would need to keep up with demand.Placement 4: Trialing new software systems and analytical work. Setting up and establishing Timegate T&A and mPro5 Audit systems onto our national Halfords contract. Also, creating new standardized processes for the contract which aims to be used as a template for all other contracts within commercial.
Profit Protection Manager
As well as my day job at Interserve, I am a keen and hard worker and employed as an Event Day Profit Protection Officer at either one of Wembley, West Ham or Arsenal football stadiums. Accountabilities include carrying out event day cash and stock variances investigations, addressing till performance and cash loss issues with till operators, supervisors or managers and activity reporting.
Senior Football Coach And Camp Counselor
An all boys summer sports camp which is concentrated, structured, and demanding and is one of the most prestigious summer camps in the world. The boys are in camp for seven weeks and our responsibility toward them was a 24-hour a day job. The most important aspect of being a counselor is the relationships you help to develop with and among the campers. One other counselor and I were living in a bunk with eight or nine boys and the atmosphere you create determines in large part the experience each camper has.For the summers of 2014 and 2015, my main role at the camp was the lead senior football (or soccer as they call it over there!) coach and was responsible for training the 13-16's in how to become better footballers. This was done by organising a clear training programme that was aimed to improve their passing, dribbling, shooting, controlling and general all around ability. As part of their development, the camp hosted inter-camp football tournaments to give them experience within a competitive environment. I was responsible for chaperoning the team when we traveled to out of camp tournaments which included duties such as managing time, communicating clear instructions, checking for any special healthcare needs, making sure in bringing the correct medicines, epipens, inhalers etc on board, arranging equipment, disciplining and tutoring the team on how to represent the camp correctly and to respect other teams and camps. As part of the camp experience, the boys got to go away on a 5 day golf trip around some of the best courses in the USA. There were 2 other counselors and I looking after 20 boys which was a difficult task. Again, it was a lot of responsibility and planning involved with a lot of pressure on making sure all the kids were safe.Overall the camp was an amazing experience. It taught me a lot of values such as leadership, planning and organising, responsiblity and respect which I believe is valuable ideals for any business.
