I have been directly involved in Emergency Management at the State and Local level since 2001. I served as the Technical Hazards Planning Manager for the Florida Division of Emergency Management, managing Radiological and Manmade Preparedness, Response, Mitigation and Recovery efforts Statewide. I developed the Continuity of Operations Program for the State of Florida. During 2004 I responded to Monroe, Miami-Dade, Charlotte, Hardee, St. Lucie, Walton, Santa Rosa, Escambia, and Gilchrist counties in direct operational support of Hurricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne. I was appointed to directly manage the operations of the temporary housing response in the 2004, working directly with FEMA, USACE and local jurisdictions. In 2004, I received the Rodney Richardson Award which recognizes exemplary service in the Field of Emergency Management. In 2005 while with the Florida Department of Transportation, I oversaw the FDOT operational response to Mississippi following Hurricane Katrina. I performed the role of LSA manager for the Florida Logistical Staging Area in Lakeland, Florida in response to Hurricane Wilma. During my employment as County Emergency Management Director, Wakulla County has received FEMA Emergency Declarations for Tropical Storm Fay (2008), 2009 Flooding and Tropical Storm Debby (2012). I managed the Wakulla County Emergency Operations for several months during the Deepwater Horizons release.I currently serve in the following positions: Florida Emergency Preparedness Association, Area Governor, FEPA Liaison to the Florida Sheriff’s Association, Member of the Region Two Domestic Security Task Force, Executive Board Member of the North Florida Regional Fusion Center, Board Member Wakulla County Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Florida State Assistance Team (SAT) Past Board Member of the Tallahassee Chapter of the American Red Cross 2006-2010 Past Co-chair of the State Working Group’s Infrastructure Committee 2012-2014
