As an instructional designer, I specialize in creating learner-centered designs that engage and empower learners through inquiry, application, and analysis of authentic resources and evidence. With a Bachelor of Arts in History & Philosophy from Pfeiffer University, a Master's in Learning, Design & Technology from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, and an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Carolina, I have a strong foundation in education.My experience in designing fully online classes for high school at Carrus Virtual Academy and my work as a social studies teacher at Cabarrus Virtual Academy and Gray Stone Day School have given me the opportunity to develop learner-centered courses that promote critical and creative thinking, collaboration, and persuasive communication. In my previous roles, I have led course development, designed hybrid digital/blended learning classes, and led professional development on 21st-century instruction, blended learning, and learner-centered design.I have also demonstrated leadership in curriculum development, training, and coaching. As a curriculum development team leader for social studies at Cabarrus County Schools, I have designed blended learning curricula and provided training on learner-centered instruction. Additionally, I have presented at various regional and national conferences on online course design, blended learning, and teaching to empower.With proficiency in various digital design and learning tools, including Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, Canvas, Blackboard, and Google Suite, I have the skills and expertise necessary to design effective and engaging learning experiences for students. My passion for instructional design and commitment to creating innovative and effective learning experiences make me an ideal candidate for any instructional design position.
