Our main clinical database is an 8 TB Cerner Millennium system that must be available 24/7 with only a few scheduled downtimes each year for upgrades and maintenance. Have worked with Oracle versions from Oracle 8 to 12c. • Developed in-house Oracle RMAN scripts for routine backups of all databases. Performed restores as necessary including routine refreshes of our development and training databases from our prod database.• Maintain a standby database for our Cerner Millennium database that is activated for reference during Cerner downtimes and then uses Oracle flash back technology to quickly restore the standby database after downtimes.• Use Oracle Enterprise Manager, AWR, custom scripts, and vendor supplied tools to monitor and locate performance problems. Perform extensive Oracle Performance tuning using a variety of techniques including Oracle baselines, SQL hints, and instance tuning. • Responsible for Cerner Millennium back-end system administration including installing code, upgrades, domain refreshes, and troubleshooting.• Responsible for managing storage on an HP EVA SAN including assigning LUNs, determining RAID configurations, firmware upgrades and physically installing disks.• Assist clinical analysts and in-house programmer with Oracle and Cerner related issues.
