Responsible for developing and managing the Operational Risk & Emergency Management department to support Paramount’s global operations. Program areas include: Global Intelligence and Response; Security Operations Support and System Administration; Emergency Management and Business Continuity; Crisis Management; Fire Prevention and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS). Specific responsibilities include:• Develop strategies to reduce operational risk and inefficiencies using innovative strategies and technologies.• Lead and motivate professional staff, establish department metrics, set performance measurements, and perform annual performance reviews.• Develop and manage the department budget, and the capital improvement plan, including writing justifications and presenting the capital budget plan to senior management.• Manage the overall EHS program, including ergonomics; lead and asbestos management, contractor safety, fall protection, lock out tag out, and injury reporting and root cause analysis.• Design, build, and manage Paramount’s Global Security Operations Center (GSOC).• Implement and administer a Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) solution and other state of the art security systems used in the GSOC. • Create and manage a global intelligence and response program to identify and mitigate risks to facilities, travelers and productions globally.• Create and manage the production security and event security programs.• Create and manage an emergency response team, crisis management team and a business continuity program.• Liaison with local and federal law enforcement agencies to develop response and recovery strategies, and share intelligence.• Create safety, security and emergency action plans for special events on the Paramount Lot as well as global events.• Manage the fire prevention program to ensure compliance with local, state and federal fire codes.

Developed and managed the Port of Long Beach’s business continuity management, emergency management and health and safety programs. Specific responsibilities performed include:• Managed and mentored professional staff, conducted annual performance reviews, and managed the sections budget. • Created the Port’s business continuity development model, conducted business impact assessments to identify critical business processes, performed risk assessments to identify general risks to the Port (i.e. loss of power, loss of roads, loss of key resources, etc.) and recommended appropriate continuity strategies to management. • Provided technical assistance to business units in developing and writing their recovery plans.• Developed, trained and managed the Port’s Incident Management Team (IMT), and created and maintained the Port’s Incident Management Plan.• Managed the Port’s crisis management systems and the department operations center. • Created and conducted business continuity, incident management, emergency management, and health and safety training programs.• Designed and conducted IMT, DR, business continuity and emergency response table top and functional exercises to evaluate the effectiveness of plans and procedures, and prepared written after action reports.• Prepared and presented business continuity and crisis management program updates to senior management to ensure that they were informed of new challenges and risks to the Port.• Prepared and presented business continuity related presentations at professional meetings, conferences and symposiums.

Managed long term health and safety and emergency management contracts for clients in aerospace, pharmaceutical and local municipalities. Specific responsibilities included: • Managed and mentored professional staff and conducted annual performance reviews. • Managed health and safety projects including initial program assessments, development of action plans, and customization of health and safety, and emergency management programs to meet the needs of clients and regulatory standards.• Created and conducted emergency response exercises, including table top exercises and full scale drills to assess the readiness of emergency response teams.• Created and conducted health and safety and emergency preparedness training programs such as CPR/1st Aid, SEMS/NIMS, and life safety in accordance with regulatory requirements.• Advised clients on worksite hazards and methods to effectively minimize those hazards to reduce injuries and illnesses. • Developed written health and safety and emergency preparedness programs such as emergency response and evacuation plans, confined space entry, and Hazwoper Health and Safety Plans.
