Working as a materials specialist within the Survivability team to ensure protection of the vehicle crew.

As part of the BAE Systems Graduate Development Framework I completed a placement in the Survivability team, worked on the Challenger 2 Life Extension Programme Demonstrator vehicle and took the opportunity for an external placement within the Air sector to work on the additive manufacturing of metallic materials. This gave me a broad variety of experience.

Conducted research funded by EPSRC into a unique High Entropy Alloy. This involved the use of a number of analytical techniques including SEM, EDS, EBSD and XRD.

As part of a year in industry I worked in the TMUK Plastics department. This was during a dual vehicle launch that was considered to be the department's greatest challenge. This gave me valuable exposure to working in a fast paced manufacturing environment during a difficult time. During this period I helped with the introduction of new tooling.
