I began my automotive career working for my father at his Shell gas station pumping gas when I was 15 years old. My father came from a military background and instilled the importance of a strong work ethic and that a satisfied customer is the only way to ensure you will stay in business, no matter the industry. I left the garage and started as an auto parts delivery driver when I got my drivers' license. I stayed in the auto parts industry, graduating from driver, to counter sales, to inventory specialist, to outside sales representative for a small chain store, to store manager, and finally as a Parts Manager with a Ford dealership. In 2001, there was a change of command at the dealership and I felt I could not take care of the customer to the degree I was accustomed to. At this time, a friend of mine was working in the exciting world of audio/video sales and installations. This was the advent of the "new" plasma flatscreen tvs and DVD was just getting started. I had an aptitude for learning new skills and excellent mechanical skills. I adapted to the new industry quickly and continued as an installer, project manager, lead field technician, and team leader. Living in a very affluent area of CT. in some of the most amazing homes, I learned all about home theater, multiroom audio/video, motorized shades, lighting systems, contol systems for HVAC and security systems, rack building and wiring, and home networks. In 2017, I relocated to the Youngstown, OH area and wasn't sure which of my two fields I would pursue. There is an AutoZone three tenths of a mile from my house and they hired me almost immediately. There are a lot of aspects of this location that I fully enjoy, but I don't think this is where I am supposed to end up as a career. That being said, I am currently seeking employment in either industry, automotive or audio/video ( or any form of low-voltage installations... security, network, telecom, smart home control).
