I have over 25 years of Retail and Retail Technology experience. The last 15 years in technology have given me the opportunity to speak to hundreds of retailers, as the understanding of the unique needs of each retailer. While I must admit that few truly novel ideas arise, the endless combination of approaches, and the benefits derived from specific strategic direction can always be enlightening. With the introduction of the COVID-19 pandemic, an obvious shift has taken place, and engagement and supply chain challenges have taken the front seat. The next five years will define how retail in general is conducted, with greater emphasis on cross-channel (Omnichannel) capabilities in both engagement and product availability and fulfillment.
