Topics include advanced spatial statistics and machine learning (prediction, suitability, patterns, and clustering).Get ready for a hands-on experience! In this course, you'll be actively writing new code and modifying existing code using open-source libraries. This will enable you to conduct spatial analysis using spatial statistics and machine learning core concepts.This course is recommended for the GIS-A track and students who are generally interested in open-source technologies or may not have the means to acquire commercial technologies. It is ideal for those who are looking for a sustainable, free, and open-source spatial data science option and analytical methods specifically focused on working with larger volumes of geospatial data to provide insight.𝙂𝙚𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙞𝙘 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙋𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙣This course examines concepts and techniques associated with the science of analytical reasoning facilitated by interactive visual interfaces. Students will utilize Tableau visualization software and Python computer programming exercises to create interactive visual interfaces such as dashboards with a particular emphasis on geographic visualization to present and disseminate spatial analytic process results.

As a Public Health Data Analytics and Machine Learning Consultant at the World Health Organization, I spearheaded critical initiatives to mitigate disease outbreaks across Africa. Leveraging advanced data science techniques, I conducted comprehensive analyses of remotely sensed environmental and demographic data to identify and understand patterns in disease outbreaks. My contributions extended to the development of a robust machine-learning model capable of predicting and forecasting disease outbreaks throughout the continent.In addition, I pioneered creating an innovative machine-learning model designed to sift through vast amounts of information efficiently, identifying relevant news articles related to disease for prompt monitoring. These initiatives played a pivotal role in enhancing the WHO's proactive disease surveillance and response capabilities.My work not only demonstrated a commitment to leveraging technology for public health but also showcased the ability to bridge the gap between data science and practical, impactful solutions in the field of global health.
