A Fort Lauderdale native, Rick Pfendler started his career in home construction following his Marine Corps duty in Vietnam. He began in construction as a laborer and quickly rose up the ranks. Rick’s resolute passion for perfection is evident throughout the entire home-building process, year after year. His honesty and integrity are deeply inbred and unyielding. He says what he means and never “over sells” or promises what he can’t deliver. Rick Pfendler, an industry veteran with more than five decades of experience, has stood at the helm of National Custom Homes and operated the company on his own since its beginning. Today, Rick continues his leadership role alongside his son Scott, who joined him in business in 2002.Scott continues to be guided by the man and mentor he calls “the best of the best.” Like his father had done decades ago, Scott worked his way from the ground up, garnering home-building proficiency out in the field. Scott graduated from Cornell University in 1994 with a degree in Business Management. He went on to work for J.P. Morgan in New York City before joining the family business. They share the desire for always doing what is right and putting the customer first. Scott, too, is in this business for the long run.As principals of the company, Rick and Scott work every step of the way with their clients. They are involved down to the very last detail, from site acquisition to architectural planning, permitting, bidding, material and color selections, job supervision, and the final walk through when the lights go on.Rick and Scott are supported by a dedicated and experienced team of administrative personnel and supervisors.
