After spending more than 37 years in the appraisal industry, I firmly believe that respect and having a service first attitude are the key ingredients to success. These attributes need to be applied not only to clients, but to customers, vendors and co-workers. As a Chief Residential Appraiser of two different national AMC's, and two separate banking institutions, I have learned an incredible amount from appraisers from around the country. Each region has its own unique way of doing things, of analyzing attributes of a property, and each believes theirs is the best way. My goal for the appraisal industry and its future is to to enhance the professionalism of the appraisal role, and create opportunities for others to join the industry. I have always worked around top notch people throughout my career and most of my learning has come from being sharpened by co-workers and clients who are not afraid to challenge the status quo.
