I am primarily a spacecraft Guidance Navigation and Control software engineer. I have worked on several programs from initial conceptions through to flight, including the SpaceX Dragon cargo capsule, the Orion capsule, and an interplanetary science mission for LASP. I have also designed and built up a software simulation package in collaboration with the AVS lab at the University of Colorado that has served as the simulation backbone for flight missions. Go Buffs! I truly love working on spacecraft missions and in several cases they've had limited funding, limited time to develop, or both. But, the challenge of making what has sometimes seemed impossible reality is so much fun that my teams have always found a way to get over the top. I find that working in both software and GNC gives a ton of opportunity for efficiencies in problem-solving that are hard to find anywhere else. I'm excited for the prospects of working with Atomos to develop the future of rendezvous spacecraft and building up the complex and cost-effective solutions that we need to make that reality.

Adc LeadLaboratory For Atmospheric And Space Physics Nov 2018 - Mar 2022Boulder, Colorado, UsTook over leadership of the ADCS team for LASP in November of 2018. Successfully completed final hardware integration with the spacecraft and executed test campaign in preparation for launch. Worked with the team to verify all requirements for flight and handled all environmental tests and system anomalies for ADCS.Following the test campaign, worked with the team and trained the ADCS group for flight operations. Prepared final flight parameters and executed all preflight testing for operations training and prepared all final configuration loads for launch. Worked with the team to provide all of the necessary tooling for operating/analyzing the subsystem in flight. Prepared several planned activities for early flight to perform complete checkout of the subsystem health after deployment.Following launch of the spacecraft, worked with the international team to ensure that the vehicle was well-controlled after deployment and performed full checkout of the subsystem. Designed several activities to analyze performance deviations compared to prelaunch expectations. Worked with the program to plan trajectory corrections for the spacecraft as it targeted its arrival at the destination. Managed the team for preparing attitude plans and analyzing attitude performance throughout the cruise to the destination. Upon approach to destination, successfully planned and executed ADCS activities to perform a successful insertion, culminating in a successful maneuver to capture into orbit. -

Orion Spacecraft Software EngineeringOdyssey Space Research, Llc Nov 2010 - Jun 2015Houston, Texas, UsI worked on the Orion project since shortly after the original Orion contract was awarded to Lockheed Martin in 2006 until 2015. I primarily worked as a software engineer for Orion's all-software testbed. My work on the EFT1 spacecraft included:- Software system integration and integrated debugging in all-software testbed- Discrepancy resolution in simulation, flight software, and networking software projects- Design and analysis of GNC and communication system phasing tests performed on spacecraft- Realtime support of the vehicle's flight -

Dragon Spacecraft Gnc DesignOdyssey Space Research, Llc Aug 2006 - Mar 2011Houston, Texas, UsI developed and analyzed several pieces of the GNC system used in Dragon's rendezvous software and performed most of the analysis of the rendezvous system through a successful CDR. Notable algorithms include:- Feedback control system used for free flight (LV separation to capture)- Rendezvous planning software- RGPS navigation system- Burn execution logic- Forced translation guidance for final approach to ISS
