I am a published technical, scientific, journalistic, and fiction writer. I am a proficient Spanish speaker, using it daily as a bilingual speech-language pathologist. It has also afforded me the opportunity to teach workshops in Mexico and volunteer for cleft palate surgical trips. My Portuguese is awful, but I love the language so much that I promise one day I will speak it without a native speaker laughing at me. My love of research, culture, and teaching pervades my personal life too.
