Oversee operational, trading and strategic decision making of junior traders.Key driver of balancing mechanism revenue through understanding and analysis of UK power market. Key responsibilities:• Within day and day ahead trading and optimisation (UK and Europe)• Responsible for UK BM strategy • Optimisation of Centrica power station portfolio to maximise asset value• Optimisation of route-to-market assets • Management of within day power gas book• European operations, Interconnector and cross border flow specialist (NL, DE, FR)• Trading via Interconnectors for NGC balancing requirements

This position was a key enabling role for trading activity and reporting in the new Asset and Load Book set up introduced in Portfolio Optimisation. A particular focus was on model development and writing and rolling out new trading and business processes. In this role I also managed a graduate placement student.
